You most certainly have a colourful acting career, what is your most notable memory to date?
Honestly, I have been so blessed to work on some amazing projects which have provided me with opportunities and experiences I never imagined I would have. I have travelled to some of the most beautiful, remote places in the world, and worked with some incredibly gifted artists.
But if I had to pin down a single moment from my career so far it would have to be working on the X-Files revival series. It was truly inspiring to work alongside director James Wong and such acting greats as Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny and Doug Savant. They were all so generous with their time and their knowledge, and were so encouraging of me as a young actor.
What is a typical day like in the life of Megan Peta Hill?
A typical ‘Meg’ day is stupendously full! My mornings usually involve a healthy breakfast and meditation, so that I begin my day with a clear and focused mind. On days when I’m not working, I tend to frequent a local café conveniently situated inside a beautiful boutique art gallery, where I can read screenplays or actor’s autobiography’s, prepare for shoots, or rehearse for auditions.
If the sun is shining and the weather is warm, I love to go hiking and exploring around Vancouver. Spending quality time among nature is something that is very important to me.
My evenings are kept for my family and friends. I try to skype with my family back home in Australia as often as I can. Otherwise I’m visiting an art gallery or at the cinema with my friends.
What 3 things keep you going each day?
Herbal Tea, Meditation, and Music. They’re the staples of a great day!
Best advice you have ever been given?
“Just breathe”. It’s advice I was given by a wonderful director I had the privilege of working with on a film called FELL a few years ago. These simple words have made such an impact not only on my acting work, but in my personal life as well. By taking a moment to Just Breathe, I’m able to connect my mind with my body, and see things a lot clearer.
Success is …
Being completely prepared when the right opportunity presents itself.
