ABOUT MY GUEST ADELE SPURGIN
Is your team filled with performers, or are you one, operating at a consistent busy pace, in a high-pressure career or business? Sadly though drained, feeling dull and uninspired, even a bit burnt out but most of all short on time…
Burnout in the Work Space
Managers, staff, office workers grind most days and weeks long, sometimes even into the nights, needing their brains and bodies to be tuned in, tapped in, highly functioning and creative all at once. In order to be faster off the mark, quicker to the challenge and deliver the goods, whilst working within their team! In short, primed for and in continual “hunt mode” which puts serious pressure on their time management skills and their bodies.
Yet for your body and brain to truly function optimally you should know what high levels of continual cortisol does to your system, and how to function fluidly without this cursing through your body. Deadlines, KPI delivery and high levels of stress are the juice for many even considered the norm, but continual full throttle could lead to adrenal fatigue and ultimately burnout. Especially more so for women.
It is a slippery topic and a tricky thing to diagnose but very valuable to understand for longevity and sustainability. Because it is possible – To Get the Results You Desire Without The Burnout, Fatigue or Meltdown.
As a personality profiler and performance coach, I have noticed a few things over the past 7 years that have spurred me into action, deliberate, sustainable action.
Go-getters (also known as constant performers) are grinding themselves and pushing their adrenals to the max.
My generalisation…they are ignoring their natural rhythms and cycles and hustling from pillar to post with a massively long to-do list. All of this leaves them little to no time for them and without the necessary support in place to sustain long-term performance.
My burnout coaching philosophy focuses on three core pillars that help people get all the results they want without the meltdown, burnout or fatigue:
Pillar #1 – Listen to what your body is saying (and start interpreting the signs).
Pillar #2 – Rewire your brain with sustainable habits for future success and
Pillar #3 – Explore your options around the real work that needs to be done to assist your health.
