The Desmore Chats With Podcast is available on ITunes, Spotify and Stitcher.
So often our fear-based stories hold us back from achieving our goals, becoming limitless and taking risks. Today on my podcast I chat with Sally Eberhardt, a writer and author of ‘Pain-free Networking for Introverts’, and business owner.
As an advocate of communication, connection and collaboration, she loves to bring people together for their mutual benefit whether it be friendship, business or both. Overcoming shyness and facing other fears has changed EVERYTHING for Sally – her personal relationships, her business, the opportunities that come to her – her whole life is so much better since mustering the courage to push through the fears that were keeping her ‘stuck’ with people and in places that just were not good for her.
We chat about:
- How to overcome the fear-based stories we tell ourselves and how to turn them around whilst building awareness around our self-talk,
- Why do we get stuck in a fear-based cycle of negative thinking?
- How to embrace a new empowered story that connects us to feeling good about ourselves,
- How to stop comparing yourself with others especially in a social media era, often creating fear around never being enough and not having enough,
- How to move forward and connect with living a fearless life.
ABOUT SALLY EBERHARDT
My name is Sally Eberhardt… and I’m an introvert.
I like time alone, time with nature, time with quiet friends. People are
fine – I like them, really, I do – but not too many, too loud or for too long.
Small talk bores me, parties exhaust me and being the centre of
attention terrifies me.
My background is in agriculture, banking, small business and market
research. My family had a succession of takeaway food stores and a
small country town general store when I was growing up so I was taught
how to politely greet people and provide good customer service from an
early age.
However, this is not the same as networking. On starting my own
business in my late 20’s, I realized I NEEDED to network – and the very
thought of approaching strangers was daunting to say the least.
Being not only an introvert, but also shy, presented me with some
challenges – challenges that I have met and learned from and now
share my learnings to make the networking journey easier for others.
Networking (and particularly networking for introverts) is a hot topic – I
am frequently asked to speak at events, be interviewed on podcasts
and have been interviewed on a local internet television program with
more engagements booked well into next year.
My passion for sharing my message about what networking REALLY is
and how to network easily and effectively is fuelled by all the wonderful
relationships and opportunities that networking has brought to my life.
Networking …. Where relationships begin and opportunities abound.
